Whether you call it a half-and-half, a beer and a chaser, or a nip and a pony, the age-old ritual of sipping beer and whisky side by side – moving slowly between the two over good conversation – is one worth revisiting. When done well, the pairing can either heighten shared flavours or throw them into sharp, delicious contrast.
Beer and whisky begin in much the same place: grain and fermentation. Exploring them together reveals just how closely connected they are – and how differently those same building blocks can express themselves.
